Love brings us both sweetness and bitterness, much like tea. Only after experiencing the bitterness do we truly cherish the sweet moments.

Let’s delve into this poetic and philosophical journey through a cup of tea, share our memories, and enjoy some traditional Chinese tea-time games.

Come with a partner or by yourself and make new friends! Dress as if you’ve been embraced by love.

1. Opening: Story of the Qixi Festival (Chinese Valentine's Day)

2. Tea ceremony with premium pu’er raw tea

3. Tea tasting & introduction

4. "Summer Rose" cold brew tea tasting 

5. Activity: Who is the gem?

6. Tasting handcrafted tea dessert "crystal jelly"

7. Game: “Pass the parcel”, be ready to share a story or follow a command 

Event hosted by certified senior tea artist Feather Chen of Upon A Tea, a purveyor of fine Chinese teas and tea experiences based in Charlottesville; they can be found online and at the Charlottesville Farmers Market.
